Supplies
Each student must have the following supplies:
1. A notebook or a folder with loose-leaf paper
2. A pencil, a black-ink pen, or a blue-ink pen
3. A red pen (optional)
I will gladly accept donations of the following items to be used and shared in the classroom:
1. Loose-leaf paper
2. Pencils and pens
3. Hand sanitizers
4. Paper towels
5. Facial tissues
Late Work Policy:
1. All assignments under 100 points are due when they are due. If a student has to turn in the assignment late, he or she needs to get my approval. If not, the assignment will be given partial credit.
2. All assignments that are worth 100 points or more may be turned in late. They will be reduced 10 points per day late, however.
3. Students are allowed only five excused absences per semester. Starting with the sixth absence, the student needs to bring a note to the attendance office. The attendance office will then let me know if the student is allowed to make up any missing work. If allowed, the student has to make up the work within two days for full credit.
4. Make up tests and quizzes need to be taken after school or during a time that is convenient for me.
Parents: Due to time constraints, I do not usually call home unless there is a discipline problem with the child or I have noticed a change in the student’s work pattern or behavior. The semester goes by extremely fast. If you would like to know how your child is doing, please call me, email me, or send me a note. I love getting emails, phone calls, and notes from parents who like to check on their child’s progress during the semester instead of reacting to the child’s performance after or toward the end of the semester. You may also contact the guidance office to get a PIN number to view your child’s grades on-line. When I get a message from a parent or guardian, I usually return the message that day or the next day. The school number is 863-291-5331, and my email is may.yang@polk-fl.net.
